A clinical and practical course for physiotherapists, physicians, and osteopaths
Focused on the causal understanding and treatment of upper limb dysfunctions through a systemic biomechanical approach.
The course explores the interconnections between scapula, humerus, rib cage, cervico-dorsal spine, and hyoid bone.
Elbow, wrist, and hand are also included, analyzed from a systemic and functional perspective.
ℹ️ This is an in-person course held in Italy. For this reason, some sections such as program details, registration, and ECM accreditation are not translated into English.
The shoulder is one of the most complex areas in rehabilitation practice.
Effective treatment requires going beyond the gleno-humeral joint, considering the biomechanical and myofascial interactions with:
scapular vector dynamics
the rib cage and scapulothoracic rhythm
cervical and thoracic vertebrae
the hyoid bone and cranio-cervical fascial system
A systemic biomechanical approach allows for effective management of instability, stiffness, impingement syndromes, and recurrent chronic dysfunctions.
This course provides a structured clinical model for assessing and treating upper limb dysfunctions using biomechanical evidence and causal reasoning.
You will learn to:
✅ Analyze the upper limb using a 3D vectorial model
✅ Identify axial deviations: scapular rotations, gleno-humeral translations, segmental misalignments
✅ Detect compensations and distorting forces originating from the thorax, cervical spine, and fascial system
✅ Assess scapulo-humeral rhythm and mechanical restrictions in the elbow, wrist, and hand
✅ Apply integrated therapeutic strategies, including:
joint decompression techniques
active exercises guided by breathing and proprioceptive input
active and passive methods aimed at normalizing altered muscular forces
The course is based on an analytical model in which symptoms are seen as expressions of systemic dysfunction.
The clinical analysis considers:
muscular forces as vectors of compression, torsion, or stabilization
biomechanical relationships between scapula, thorax, and cervical spine
the myofascial continuum involving the hyoid bone and dorsal spine
Assessment includes:
dynamic movement analysis
vector-based interpretation of forces acting on the joint
treatment strategies focused on redistributing mechanical tensions
📅 Duration: 4 days – 32 hours
📖 Format: theoretical sessions, practical exercises, and clinical labs
📌 Limited number of participants to ensure quality in practical sessions
📝 Please note: Program details, ECM credits, costs, and registration terms are available only in Italian.
